Our aim is to identify horses with great potential on the flat and over hurdles and place them with trainers who can bring out the best in them. Each of our trainers is a proven winner who share our commitment and passion for horses and racing. These are trainers who are at the top of their sport.
Richard Phillips has always been an ambitious man. Born close to Epsom racecourse, he knew at the age of five years old that he wanted to be a racehorse trainer. There was only one aim and that was to get to the top of the profession. Riding ponies and show jumpers through his teenage years, he was Head Boy at St Andrews School, Leatherhead and went on to gain a distinction in stud and stable management at Witney College. Following eight years as assistant to Classic winning trainer, Henry Candy, he set up on his own in 1993 with nothing but devout faith and determination.
Winners soon followed. Top chasers such as Time Won't Wait, Gnome's Tycoon and Noble Lord, proved in the early years that Phillips had the skill to train at the highest level.
In 2000, Richard was rewarded for this promising start to his career by taking on Jackdaws Castle from David Nicholson. Following its sale, Richard then developed Adlestrop into one of the finest training operations in the country. That year he trained his first Festival winner when La Landiere won the Cathcart Chase following her brilliant victory in the Racing Post Chase the previous month. On the back of that great mare, Richard has gathered together a talented team of young horses to take him to the top of his profession.
Richard currently trains a number of Bellflower Racing Horses, including Sharp Jack, Another Late Night, Bobby Donald, Smart Tom, Mr Aitch, Colinette, and Norman Beckett.

We are pleased to announce that we have recently procured 2 horses, to be trained by Mick & Sue Mullineaux, of Southley Farm Stables.
Mick, Sue, and their team have commenced the training of Lyons Hill and Driving Seat at their stables in Alpraham, close by to the picturesque village of Tarporley, in Cheshire.
Mick started his career with Eric Cousins in 1969 where he also served as flat jockey. During the early part of his career Mick prepared many horses for Francis Lee, and also became involved with Lord Hulme, breaking horses in readiness for training. It is as a direct result of Mick’s association with Lord Hulme that Southley Farm Stables was set up as a permanent training facility, and in 1989 Mick and Sue began Training horses for point to point racing.
In 1996 Mick and Sue became full Flat and Jump trainers, having notable success with horses such as Talbot Avenue, and Lady Boxer, together earning their owners over £80,000 in prize money. Mick is regularly invited to race at the Dubai festival. The stable now have 28 horses in training including Lyons Hill and Driving Seat. It is Bellflowers intention to place further horses with Southley Farm Stables in the future
